How to Play Against the Bot, Cyber Bot Nova
No opponent to hand, or one who has gone quiet? Nova will take the other side of any duel, answers instantly, and is a genuinely useful way to practise a category.
Cyber Bot Nova is the house opponent. Nova never needs an invitation, never leaves you waiting, and answers the moment it is their turn, which makes a bot duel the fastest way to get a game in.
When to reach for the bot
- Nobody is about. Start a duel and take Nova instead of waiting on a friend.
- A match has stalled. If an opponent has not taken their turn, switch the match to the bot from the lobby and play it out.
- You want practice. Learning a category against Nova costs you nothing on the leaderboard that matters to your pride.
How hard is Nova?
Nova gets roughly two questions in three right, with a varying speed bonus, so a solid round will beat them and a sloppy one will not. They are a fair benchmark rather than a pushover or an unbeatable machine.
How it plays
Exactly like a duel against a person: three questions a round, the same questions for both sides, the same scoring. The difference is that Nova's round is already done by the time you finish yours, so you go straight to the comparison and on to the next round at your own pace.
