How Quizmondo Scoring, Streaks and Ranks Work
Why a fast right answer is worth more than a slow one, what the final round multiplier does, and how XP turns into a rank. Worth two minutes before your next duel.
Quizmondo rewards knowing the answer and knowing it quickly. Understanding the sums is worth a surprising number of points.
Points on a question
A correct answer is worth a base 100 points, plus a speed bonus of two points for every second still on the clock. Answer a 15-second question in four seconds and the bonus is worth 22 points on top. A wrong answer and a timeout both score nothing, so a confident guess costs you no more than running the clock down.
The final round counts for more
The last round of a pub quiz carries a 1.5x multiplier on everything you get right. A quiz is rarely over before it is over, and a table three rounds adrift can still take the night.
Where the time limit comes from
In a pub quiz the quizmaster sets it, anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds. Fifteen is a fast buzzer round; thirty gives a table room to argue. It is worth asking which you are playing before the first question.
XP and ranks
Playing earns XP, which accumulates across duels and pub quizzes and sets your position on the global leaderboard. Unlike a single match score, XP only ever goes up, so turning up regularly counts for as much as a single brilliant night.
One thing worth knowing: your scores are worked out on the server from the answers you send, not by your phone. Nothing you do in the browser can inflate them.
